Zinc ore beneficiation process

Low grade Zinc ore isn’t suitable for final applications. It needs to increase the ore grade and reduce the gangue content.
There are many different technics for Zinc ore beneficiation including crushing; grinding; washing; filtration; sorting; sizing; gravity concentration; magnetic separation; flotation; and agglomeration etc. According to Zinc ore characteristics and gangue content, different technics could be used in beneficiation process.

First, uniform fine particle sizes are produced through the crushing and grinding process. And then magnetic separation is most commonly used to separate natural magnetic Zinc ore from various less-magnetic or nonmagnetic materials. Sometimes, gravity or flotation method maybe used instead of magnetic separation. In the end, thickening and dewatering are used to remove the moisture or liquid from slurried concentrates and waste slurries. Through all these processes, the concentrated ore are separated from unwanted gangue.
